2010 Schedule is Set!
Brighton Speedway has launched the 2010 Schedule of events to the web site! Don’t hesitate to see it now at http://www.brightonspeedway.com/schedule.php. Management is excited to once again begin another race season with our Coca Cola Full Throttle Season Opener on Saturday, May 8th. As in years past, admission for this event is only $2.00 with a non perishable food donation. Once again we expect food donations for the Brighton Food Bank to overflow out of the pace truck and speedway vehicles as race fans come together to support a good cause.
Each scheduled race night holds an awesome and exciting experience for everyone. The diehard race fan will be enthralled with the action packed DIRT racing while a host of other events such as Larry’s Towing Spectator One on One Racing, Gord’s Water Vantastics, Figure 8 Races, Leon’s of Trenton School Buss Races, the Kids Club and Brighton Automotive Fan Appreciation are designed to provide fun, trilling entertainment for the whole family.
A major announcement made in the off season was that the 2010 season will mark the return Late Model racing back to Brighton Speedway. With a limited schedule of 14 nights and great initial car counts the Vanderlaan Building Supplies DIRTCar Pro Late Model division will debut on the Victoria Day Long Weekend, Saturday, May 22nd alongside the opening night of the Southern Ontario Sprint Cars for amazing DIRT flying, high horsepower action for everyone!
2010 season highlights include; six visits from the Southern Ontario Sprint Car, the return of the Triple Crown Series provided by RONA, Trenton, Larry’s Towing and McDougall Insurance. The Motosports of Trenton Flat Track 4 Wheelers return, the entertaining Leon’s Trenton School Buses will be here June 12th and September 11th a visit from the Ontario Dirt Late Models in August, The Labour Day Classic Weekend has continued to grow in popularity and once again see a Sprint Car double header and a fantastic fireworks display provided by Mystical Distributing. Applefest Weekend returns again bigger and better for 2010 to mark the end of stock car racing for the season at Brighton Speedway. This late September Race event will host once again on Friday, September 24th, DIRTCar Sportsman Syracuse Qualifier, also featuring Mod Lites and Vintage Cars. On Saturday, September 25th expect to see the DIRTCar 358 Modified Shootout, Syracuse Qualifier as well as the Lucas Oil 358 Clash for Cash and Mod Lites. This night also signifies the final points night for our weekly divisions and the Duel in the Dirt $1,000 to win Combined Event with Merrittville Speedway to wrap up the points championship for that series.
A new format has been laid out for the final event of the year with the introduction of Lange & Fetter Motors “Eve of Destruction” @ 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 3nd.
